Xbox One – First Time Setup

Please note, For the usage.connectivityu.com page to work you need to be connected to our internet services.

If you are trying to set your Xbox One up for the first time, Microsoft will require you to connect to the internet before it allows you to finish the setup. In order to find the Wireless or Wired MAC address so you can finish the setup process, follow the steps below:

  1. Allow the Xbox to try to connect to the internet, it will fail the attempt and allow you an option to “Fix It“. Select this option.
  2. The “Fix It” process will fail as well, and you will be taken to a page that will allow you to manually set up your connection. On this screen you should see both the Wireless and Wired MAC addresses.
  3. Keep this screen up or Write the MAC Address down.
  4. Go to your computer, which must be connected to the apartment’s internet, and open up a browser i.e. Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and go to the webpage usage.connectivityu.com (Please type this in exactly as shown)
  5. On the webpage you will see Enter device’s MAC Address. Enter the MAC address of your XBOX there.
  6. When entering the MAC Address, you must put a colon ( : ) every 2 characters. For example: 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E instead of 001A2B3C4D5E.
  7. Click Register Device.
  8. Retry the Setup process on the Xbox One.

Xbox 360

1. First, you need to find your Xbox’s MAC Address. Instructions on how to find this are Below.

2. Turn the XBOX on.

3. On the dashboard go to Settings all the way to the right.

4. Select System.

5. Select Network Settings.

For A Wired Connection

1. Select Wired Network.

2. Select Configure Network.

3. Go right to the Additional Settings page.

4. Go down and select Advanced Settings.

5. On this screen you will see the MAC Address listed at the bottom. It will be 12 characters long, for example: 001A2B3C4D5E

6. Keep this screen up or Write the MAC Address down.

7. Go to your computer, which must be connected to the apartment’s internet, and open up a browser i.e. Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and go to the webpage usage.connectivityu.com Please Type This In Exactly How It’s Shown.

8. On the webpage you will see Enter device’s MAC Address. Enter the MAC address of your XBOX there.

9. When entering the MAC Address, you must put a colon ( : ) every 2 characters.
For example: 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E instead of 001A2B3C4D5E.

10. Click Register Device.

For A Wireless Connection

1. Select Wireless Network

2. Connect to the correct wireless network using the appropriate password.

3. Select Configure Network.

4. Go right to the Additional Settings.

5. Go down and select Advanced Settings

6. On this screen you will see the MAC Address listed at the bottom. It will be 12 characters long,

for example: 001A2B3C4D5E

7. Keep this screen up or Write the MAC Address down.

8. Go to your computer, which must be connected to the apartment’s internet connection, and open up a browser i.e. Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and go to the webpage usage.connectivityu.comPlease Type This In Exactly How It’s Shown.

9. On the webpage you will see Enter device’s MAC Address. Enter the MAC address of your XBOX there.
