Issues after a storm or power outage

Common Causes

If your apartment recently lost power, or if the lights have flickered during a storm, you may briefly lose your internet connection.

Power outages, surges, or lightning strikes can cause service drops or failures on our network. If you experience any issues connecting to the internet after one of these events, here are some common solutions to try out.

Solutions

check with your neighbors

If your internet isn’t working after a storm or power outage, check in with your neighbors at your building. If they are also experiencing issues, there may be a network problem on our end. In that case, you can always confirm with our support team.

Reboot your router

Many times, if power drops to your unit, your router may need to be rebooted to restore service. Simply unplug the power cord on your router for about 10 seconds, and then plug it back in. Wait 30-60 seconds for your router to boot back up and then try your connection again.

Check all your devices

Try to narrow down the issue. Check multiple internet connected devices to see if the issue is affecting all of your devices. If your game console isn’t connecting, check to see if your phone or a computer is able to get online.

Contact us

If none of the above options work, we encourage you to talk to our support team for further help.
